SaaS Design for Smart Waste Management

Clearago GmbH has been active in the waste management sector since 2016, based in Berlin. The company provides comprehensive container services for a wide range of customers. With a network of more than 300 container service providers, Clearago delivers efficient and environmentally friendly solutions nationwide.

New Paths Through the Analog Waste Jungle

Until now, Clearago’s focus had been on private and smaller business clients. The new challenge was to develop a complex Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform specifically tailored to the needs of large customers with multiple properties. The goal: to replace paper-based and inefficient waste management processes with a digital, transparent solution.

From Waste Problems to a Smart Digital Solution

In several short workshops, we gained a deep understanding of the specific challenges and needs of Clearago’s new target group. With user flows, we identified the key requirements for both users and software. Our focus: a purposeful user experience (UX) and an intuitive user interface (UI) for the click prototype.

The result is a modern SaaS solution that digitizes and optimizes waste management. The platform improves operational efficiency for waste service providers and enables Clearago’s clients to proactively respond to CO₂ taxation. Thanks to user-centered development, the application is both highly functional and intuitive. It provides a comprehensive statistical overview and management of waste disposal across multiple sites, visualizing waste volumes, costs, and CO₂ emissions. It also enables management of orders and invoices, while giving users full visibility of service providers and contract details – including scheduling and planning.
