Children’s Books Powered by Hybrid A.I.

Working with new technologies has always been a joy for us, and we wanted to share our enthusiasm for artificial intelligence with others. This led to the creation of Fyona.ai – an AI-powered web project for automatically generating micro-adventures in the form of children’s books. At the same time, it serves as an experimental playground to demonstrate what AI is already capable of – and where its current limits still lie.

Innovation through A.I.

Personalized books have been around for some time, but in most cases the results are not truly unique and require a relatively large internal team. The idea of using AI to create fully automated and ultra-personalized books sparked the launch of Fyona.

Easier said than done! AI often tends to “do what it wants,” and technical limitations had to be overcome. That’s why the project required clear AI guidance: defining precisely what should happen when and how. And since the target audience is children, we also had to establish what should not happen.We set out to define the essence of a good story – breaking it down into building blocks and translating them into a structured AI flow: morals, themes, genres, characters, plots, illustrations, and much more.

Technology & Implementation

Along the way, we gained valuable insights into the state and application of AI, constantly applying new learnings as we moved forward. Technically, challenges kept coming: AI requests are processed in parallel to avoid long waiting times for users. The backend (PHP, Laravel) is highly dynamic, allowing the platform to be continuously improved and expanded. PDFs are generated for integration with print-on-demand services.New developments were rolled out step by step and validated through user testing to constantly refine the flow.

The result is a prototype that’s genuinely fun to use: an AI-driven book generation machine that offers a glimpse into the future of AI – and, hopefully, sparks curiosity and excitement in others as well.
